Siyan Oyeweso, a Professor of History has picked the African Democratic Congress to contest the Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituecy seat for 2019 general elections. Oyeweso beat other contestants for the ticket at the party primary election.
Siyan Oyeweso family tree is derived from the ancient town of Oje in contemporary Egbedore Local Government of Osun State. He is a prince from the Adepele ruling house of Ojo. His biological parents hail from No. 3, Ile – Olojo in Ede North Local Government. The family, are renowed experts in pot – making and ceramics. His grandmother, the late Iyalode of Sekona hailed from Ile – Odomu while his mother is from Ile – Apena, the Arilesere segment of the Apena Compound in Olusokun.
Abdulgafar Siyan Oyeweso spent his childhood and formative years in Sekona – Ede. It was in fact, at St. Peter’s Anglican Primary School, Sekona where he had his elementary education under the tutelage of great masters like P. A. Oyegoke, Mr. Tony Oruame and Mr. Kunle Oyeyemi, a.k.a Kuguaye of blessed memory.
Oyeweso assures that his manifesto will be tailored towards proposing bills that will see Mother/Child well – being, youth empowerment, good health care system and educational policies, not forgetting the artisans and market women empowerment
