Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding Celebrates Alaafin@80

The Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding (CBCIU)  a Category II UNESCO Cultural Centre located at the hilly top of Abere, along Gbongan-Osogbo road, Osun State has concluded plans to celebrate the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Alayeluwa, Iku Baba Yeye, Oba (Dr.) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III to mark his 80th birthday through an International Conference in his honour. According to the Executive Director of the Centre, Prof. Siyan Oyeweso, a Professor of History at the Osun State University, the Conference seeks to provide a better understanding of the role and position of the Alaafin institution in the growth and development of black history and culture in very significant ways. The Conference, starting on Monday 8th of October to Thursday 11th of October will be held at the Ajayi Crowther University in Oyo.
