Late former governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Lamidi Adesina, would be happy in his grave as his son, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina assisted indigent but brilliant students from Ibadan.
Organized in conjunction with the Federation of Ibadan Students Union, FIBSU, hundreds of students, drawn from various higher institutions of learning, were given financial assistance.
Party executives from all the wards in the two local governments where he represents also went home with huge amount of money, worth millions of naira.
Lam-Adesina, who represents Ibadan North East-Ibadan South East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, said the gesture was one his ways of giving back to the society.
According to him: “This is the second time we will be organising this. I am resolute in my quest to make sure I deliver the promises I made. About two times, I came to you to solicit votes. I promised to set up an educational scheme. I promised that many of you will benefit from the scheme. I am very sure that we are transparent enough in the selection of beneficiaries. I can assure you that those who are yet to benefit will also be considered in the future.”
