Nigerian rapper, songwriter, actor and reality television show star, Ejeba Efe Michael, known simply as Efe, has won the Big Brother Naija 2017, beating the other four finalist to take home the with a the grand prize of N25million and an SUV at stake.
It was the climax of tension soaked but colourful night of music and performances that saw Tuface and Tiwa Savage thrill the audience. The Director, M-Net West Africa, Wangi Mba- Uzoukwu, presented the cheque of N25million to an elated Efe.
The Delta State-born, Jos-based rapper and graduate in Economics, Efe, emerged as the most popular Big Brother Naija 2017 housemate, having over 57% of fans compared with the other housemates.
He took everyone by surprise with the support from viewers. After being nominated for possible eviction, Efe pulled an incredible 39.9%, 58/59% out of 100% to stay in the Big Brother Naija House.
First to be evicted was the Mass Communication graduate and entertainer, from Eleme, Rivers State, Marvis Nkpornwi, simply known as Marvis. She was followed by Debie-Rise who had hoped to win the N25m so that she could use it to fund her music career and her love for graphics.
T here was palpable anxiety as 32-year-old Tboss, arguably one of the controversial housemates, was announced as the next to leave the house. Bisola emerged as the first runner-up.
The show started in January and was aired on dedicated 24/7 channels on DStv and for the first time, GOtv Plus, and ended last night.
The eight previously evicted housemates, Soma, Miyonse, ThinTallTony, Coco-Ice, Bassey, Balley, Gifty and Uriel joined the Nigerian audience at a viewing centre in Lagos where they caught a glimpse of all that went down in the house where they once shone glowingly before their exit.
