Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari is back in the country after a vacation in London, United Kingdom that lasted more than 10 days as initially planned.
The president landed at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, at about 5:30pm, according to Channels TV.
The presidency had announced that Buhari was proceeding on a 10-day vacation during which he was scheduled to see an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist for further consultation on a lingering ear infection.
President Buhari was initially expected back in the country on Thursday June 16th but Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who told members of the Federal Executive Council that he had spoken with the president, said he would arrive on Sunday.
Prof Osinbajo had also assured the ministers and Nigerians in general that the president was in perfect health.
The president had taken a similar leave in February 2016 during which time Prof Osinbajo also stood in as acting president. Letters were written to the National Assembly on both occasions.
