The Managing Director, Connect Marketing Services, Tunji Adeyinka, has given hints about the focus of this year’s TechPlus, saying the programme will explore advancements in relation to major technology trends of the future such as augmented reality, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, workforce automation and digital Disruption.
He also said a general manager had been appointed to manage the event’s operations and ensure the successful execution of the 2017 edition of West Africa’s largest conference and trade expo, slated for July 4 to 8.
Adeyinka, who is also principal organiser of the event , said just like the previous editions, TechPlus 2017 would bring together companies and delegates from around the world to showcase how technology was evolving to meet the needs of a digital generation.
He added, “Last year, we hosted over 11,000 delegates. This year, more products, conversations and experiences will be shared with thousands of consumers, trade members and key industry stakeholders.
“From start-ups to the SMEs and enterprises, everyone is welcome. TechPlus 2017 offers an unrivalled platform for engagement, collaboration and business growth.”
Adeyinka gave the name of the event’s newly appointed general manager as Mr. Taiwo Oyewole, adding that he would be responsible for driving TechPlus to the next level by “building on the solid foundation and successes achieved in the last two years.”
Industry observers said that there were some enhancements on TechPlus 2017 in order to make it the biggest TechPlus event ever, in scale and scope.
They stated that these enhancements were designed to create experiences for partners, industry stakeholders and delegates.
The Executive Director, Connect Marketing Services, Kazeem Abimbola, said, “The enhancements, more importantly, are testaments to the growing success of TechPlus and its dynamic nature. One -key feature is the multi-city event structure with the introduction of a one-day special event in Abuja on July 4.”
In his response to his appointment, the new TechPlus general manager said, “I am deeply humbled by the responsibility but equally excited about the journey ahead.”
He added, “Indeed, we live in exciting times and you need constant focus to ensure accelerated growth. One thing we need to do is innovate fast because the industry does not respect tradition, only innovation. TechPlus has seen great success and I am hungry for more, in every possible way.”
